Students and staff at Cullompton Community College are absolutely delighted with this year’s impressive GCSE results, the first under the new examination system which is deliberately designed to be tougher.
CCC students have the highest ever level of A*/A grades with over a third of students gaining A*/A in English and above a quarter of students doing so in maths. In the new 9-1 grade results English scored 79% and maths 68% whilst success in the Ebacc subjects of English, Mathematics, Humanities and Languages exceeded expectations at 43%. Science results were exceptional achieving 100% across the board in the separate Sciences of Physics, Chemistry and Biology with the overall percentage in the category of two Sciences being 71% A*-C, a 9% point increase on 2016.
Results confirm that students and staff went the extra mile to tackle the new examinations. Top quality teaching and our consistent belief in aiming high for students of all ability levels means that all students are able to achieve and succeed.
As Headteacher I am proud of this impressive set of results at a time of nationally increasing challenge.
“Congratulations, magnificent GCSE results”
