It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas at CCC

  The beautifully decorated tree stands tall and shining in Reception, the Library is cosy and inviting for students attending the festive pop up reading event, we held our annual Carol Service at St Andrew's church on 7th December and hosted two performances of Cullompton pre-school's Nativity play - no doubt featuring some future CCC students!

It's All Happening in Science

There's been loads going on in the Science department this year, with extra-curricular Science club on Monday lunchtimes and the re-launch of the ever-popular Science Café, under the new banner of STEM café. Science club has been inundated with students keen to make giant bubble structures, dissect rats, grow their own crystal gardens and engineer marshmallow catapults - what else?!

In STEM café meanwhile, we've welcomed our first speaker -  a Space Detective, who gave us all the chance to experience life on the International Space Station.

Pop Up Reading Event

Year 7 and 8 students -  dont miss our annual Pop Up reading event in the Library.

Rebecca Matthews and Matt Heywood, both in Year 10,  will be reading "A Christmas Carol" at lunch time on Monday 5th December, Thursday 8th December and Monday 12th December.

Enjoy the Christmas atmosphere in the library and be enthralled by the story -  described by Dickens himself in a letter:

Christmas Lunch

A behind the scenes picture of our wonderful Kitchen staff who are busy making plans for Christmas lunch on Thursday 15th December.

     

Tickets are on sale in the canteen at £2.40 for a traditional turkey dinner with all the trimmings or a delicious vegetarian option. And of course a mouth-watering selection of sweets.

East Devon Indoor Cricket Tournament

The Under 13 boys played really well in the East Devon indoor cricket Tournament held at Exmouth Tennis Centre.

In the pool matches, they initially lost to eventual winners, Kings, but went on to comfortably beat Axe Valley and a 'last man stand' by Ryan Hill saw them defeat Sidmouth on the last ball of the match. In the semi-finals they put up a spirited display but lost to Uffculme.

Former student Zac King is British Gold Medal Champion in Trampolining!

 Zac King, who graduated from Cullompton Community College in Summer 2016, is the new Great Britain Trampolining Gold Medalist in the 15 to 16 age group.

 

Congratulations Zac, we are all very proud of you, and will be cheering you on to many more medals in the future!
