A date for your diary!
On Monday 26th February we are planning an exciting event for the students. Steve Voake, author The Dreamwalker’s Child and Dark Woods, amongst many other titles, has agreed to visit the school to talk to the students about his books.
Steve is an internationally renowned author whose work has been translated into several languages and we are delighted to have secured a visit by him. Steve will be talking to the students about inspiration for their own writing and also enthusing them about the joy of reading. This will support the literacy work that we do in school and we hope it will prove a stimulating experience for the students.
Afterwards there will be an opportunity for the students to buy a book and get it dedicated to them and signed by him. A signed book can be a permanent reminder of a special experience and can reinforce the message about the importance of reading. If your child would like to purchase a book, please make sure they bring some money in on the day. The books will range in price from £7-£10. Please send cash rather than a cheque if possible, as this makes life a lot easier for us. Of course, if your child already owns any of Steve’s books they can bring those in and he will be happy to sign them.
We are sure you will agree that this is an opportunity not to be missed and the students can look forward to a very exciting day.
