We collected 350kg and raised £140.00.

That makes the total raised since May 2013

£996.00!

The total weight collected so far is 2.2tons

Music and Dance from around the World.

   Year 8s have been looking at dances from all over the world, including the Greek Sirtaki, Haka and Brazilian Capoeira.

Students have been concentrating on basing their dances around important key characteristics of the Dance, such as dancing in line for the Greek Sirtaki.

Here are some photos of the students 'visiting' New Zealand to study the Haka, a dance that has become popular due to the All Blacks. All students really got on board with the Haka, and incorporated  the major characteristics such as loud chanting, agressive facial expressions and foot stamping.

Year 7 Singing with Alan Boxer

All our Year 7s sing as a Tutor Group  for about 6 weeks in the year with Alan Boxer. Its a lively, fun and energetic time and they sing a huge variety of songs, from Classics to today's hits!

 There are many opportunties for those who want to try singing solo. Here is Tutor Group 7 YBR entertaining 7LCS, who will be the next Group to sing together.

Careers Event

Careers Event

On 12th and 13th November the year group spent a day with Careers South West advisors exploring ideas for the future and researching the necessary courses and qualifications.

Thinking ahead and looking at the future invloved researching different careers, the students were divided into several groups which each gathered information to make a poster illustrating all aspects of the career they had worked on.  At the end of the day a spokesperson for each group made a presentation. The students thoroughly enjoyed the research and exploring a variety of interesting and rewarding possible careers for their future.

2016 Prom Committee organise Fundraising Events

The 2016 Prom Committee - Abby Selby, Brady Manser, Akvile Gedvilaite, Will Jee and Zac May - have been working hard to come up with a host of money making ideas to help fund this year's Prom!

Fun fundraising plans include:

First Friday of the month (December to May) a cake sale in the Hall at break and Lunch time.

'Guess how many sweets in the jar' and other challenges posted around the College - keep your eyes open!

November 25th Raffle  - 25p per ticket, strips £1.00

11th December Film Evening, £1.50 PP

18th December Teachers' Quiz, £2.00 PP.

Science Club

Science Club

Fabulous Science Club on Friday 6th November - five groups getting on with their rat dissections, dyeing and fake-blood-spatter projects, brilliantly supported by the Year 10 helper students.

Science Club happens every Friday, from 1.20pm in Lab.1 These projects run until Christmas so if you see a project you like the look of, or you have a brilliant idea of your own to investigate, don't miss out on the next Science Club start date - Friday 8th January, 2016
